question about online surveys
Has anyone done this? I keep getting these adds through my school, and it looks like easy money. Of course the gut thinks its a scam...

You pay a one time fee of 29.99 (but with a coupon its reduced to 9.99) then supposedly begin raking in the cash by taking surveys. can it be that easy?

1. You should set this up as a survey.
Anyway, don't trust it.

I sure as hell wouldn't.

8. There's no one these days that
won't market your information for their own profit. I even get shit from contact lens makers directly because an eye doc I bought glasses from (not the same practice that did my exam) sold my name for their advertising purposes. I trust no one these days or anything like this that "seems" legit.

5. you shouldn't have to pay anything, they are supposed to be paying you
Edited on Sun Jul-25-10 12:43 PM by carlyhippy
I did it for a little while, it was a hassle, I never did make enough money to get a check, the surveys go on and on, some surveys I was not elgible for, it was not fast money and you won't get rich from it, or at least that was my experience. I can't even remember what companies I was part of, it was a couple of years ago.

10. Bulgaria! Ha!
from the blog...

"If you plug that IP address into whois, you’ll find that this domain is registered in Bulgaria. Maybe this James Scott guy is some clever American entrepreneur who’s decided to set up shop in southeastern Europe. More likely, it’s just a lowlife, unemployed Slavic scumbag looking to get rich (like that will ever happen)."

(BTW I have no gripe with Bulgarians:) )

13. LOL I love Bulgarians, unless they are trying to take all my money
I need to tell my kids about this in case they see this or get a call.
I am glad you posted about this, unfortunately out there are jerks who try and scam college students. I told mine if they get any marketing calls on their phone, just hang up.

14. Try TestSpin!
I was deep into this for years, and made good money. Now I just do TestSpin, because they pay in Amazon gift certificates.

You can rake in some major money doing on line surveys, paying no fees, but they are very time consuming!

15. I'd say it's a scam
first, because they want you to pay. Chances are, you'll never see a penny from them.

second - I know I've tried one of those, take surveys for money kinds of things that don't require money up front.

I must have gone through about 150 surveys at one point without ever getting to anything giving me money.

This was several years ago, but I'm sure it led to me getting a bunch of spam, and never anything else for it.

I think this fits the general rule that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
