...it like there was no tomorrow. ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN News, ESPN Radio. All their shows and announcers were going on and on and on about it. Funny thing is, 90% of those talking head wouldn't know a soccer ball if it hit them in the head. But they pimped for the Mother Ship.

7. It was the greatest sporting event of my life

I became a supporter of the Spanish national team 8 years ago, cheering alongside my now dearly departed mother-in-law who was Spaniard.

Two years ago I became a big fan of FC Barcelona, mostly due to my friendship with her brother-in-law tio Antonio. More than half of Spain's starting lineup this year were Barcelonistas, so I knew most of the players really well.

As a native-born Clevelander, I was cursed to be a sports fan of local Cleveland teams, aka Looserville. But now, by my allegiance to Barca, and Espana, I am now a champion of the world!

I am not the cause of looser-dom for teams I support! It's not me! I'm a winner. Unfortunately, Cleveland is still a looser. Maybe I can bring my new found luck to Looserville and get us the first title in 47 years!
