Saw a little bit of this old movie again. I love Andy Garcia in it. But I just cannot understand the movie. It doesn't make sense to me. Maybe the characters weren't developed enough, I don't know...

but I just can't understand how Alice (Meg Ryan) could have a problem with her husband.

Am I being clueless?

Did anybody else find this movie a little..."off"?

1. I don't think there was enough backstory on Meg's character, iirc,

I was not convinced on her being an alcoholic. :shrug:

Have not seen the film in a long time though, but I do remember that the sum total did not equal the parts.

also, the story was told from one of the daughter's points of view, and that was not handled well, iirc.

I can understand what you're saying though....her husband was so good to her and I never could understand why she treated him like she did. Plus....he's a hottie. ;)
