1. The comments are hilarious. Everyone's a genius.
People calling BS, questioning the shadows, all the usual nonsense. They are sitting at a computer and could easily Google to learn more details and see the other photos, but no.

2. okay first of all..the photo is labelled "killer whale" uh no.
As soon as you see a big error like that, most people's (including mine) BS detector went off. Is the story true. Possibly. But the photo is fake.

3. The photo isn't a fake.
There is at least one other photo showing the damage that it did. No professional has questioned its authenticity. However, as you mention, the content of the article could use some cleaning up.

5. The thing that bothers me about the photo
is if you are just out on a boat yourselves, how do you get a photo of the exact moment from another boat...Was there more than one boat? Maybe I missed that....

7. Yes, there was more than one boat.
They were whale watching. People tend to bring cameras with them when doing that.

10. Geeze, not you, too!!!
Google. There are plenty of pictures. The boat was close to shore and the pictures show a lot of other boats in the area. They were there to watch the whale migration, so there were plenty of cameras around.

"Officials are investigating whether a whale that slammed into a yacht near Blouberg was harassed moments before it breached.

Richard Smith, manager of the Waterfront Boat Company which offers whale-watching trips, said that on their return from a tour his crew members had told him they had seen how a rigid inflatable raft and then a yacht had harassed it.

Marine activist Nan Rice said it was likely that it breached because it was harassed."

11. I never doubted the actual incident.
But the story is poorly written and the photo does look shopped. And as a young whale I can see that kind of mistake happening.

16. Hardly--there's a story about a tweet from Pastor Warren
that tells no more than the original tweet, but instead of just repeating the tweet, it goes on for several paragraphs about what the tweet says.

This is America. Journalism is dead. They string a few random facts together, blame the Democrats and praise the Republicans, and that's the story. Sure, other nations do it, too, but we are particularly good at it.

I want to see a mass animal stampede out of circuses, and i want to see more whales fucking up asshole yachters, intrusive joy-riders, and ignorant sight-seers.

and shouting "Whew! Let's PARTAY!" and then it's all blank.

Can you help me get this oar out of my...?"
