Anybody else have a cat that talks to his/her toys?
Evie's in the studio room with a toy mousie, screaming up a storm. She's been doing that for years (the talking to her mousie part :P). We used to think she was getting mauled by her brothers, but she's just having a great ol' time.

What is *that* about??

1. I used to have a cat that moaned to her toys.
I know Billie was trying to say something.

Now I have a parrot who talks to her toys. She's easier to understand.

2. ROFL!
I know it's because I'm cat-screamie-impaired that I can't figure it out. Is it instructions? Warnings? What?

One of her nicknames is Screaming Mimi because of this phenomenon.

4. I know that when cats see some prey outside and get very excited they
start talking in excited little mews. Sounds like your cat loves her/his toy.

5. We have a cat that talks to us. We have squeak conversations, but she
is really intense about replying to our sounds (either voice or squeak).

8. All my kitties talk to me - but Evie's vocalizations are very different when
she's talking to her toys.

Quark barks - I think he spent too much time outside running around with dogs before we rescued him and his sister Neutrino. :P

6. at various times. Sure scares us til we figure out what's going on.
Often it happens when they 'lose' the toy under some furniture and it won't play anymore.

11. When she really gets going, she sounds like she's being mauled by a pack of wolverines
or something. We always check on her when she does that in case it does turn out that one of her brothers is roughhousing, but we don't freak out nearly as bad as we used to. She has a bloodcurdling scream she uses when Plato gets too rough, and we never ignore *that*.

13. D'Artagnan can sound so mournful...
...when he wants me to open the door for him.
Riktor is imperious, and Wimsey is polite.

They run the gammut from "Dammit" to "Please?" on this...
