What's your favorite, late night, mindless movie?
Edited on Sun Jul-18-10 03:57 PM by bif
You know, the one you watch after a couple beers, and your not quite ready to hit the kip. Mine is "Waterworld". A pretty good movie if you eliminate the professor and his hot airship bits.

3. Point Break
How could you not like a movie with Gary Busey, Keanu, Patrick Swayze, sky diving and surfing?
And Keanu plays an FBI agent called Johnny Utah.

6. Jaws, of course!
Wow, I love it that you mentioned "Water World." I saw that recently and ordered it for my kid & his wife. He hasn't watched it yet. I thought it was really cool!

But yeah, Jaws. It's great to fall asleep to. :)

17. A Few Good Men
It's always on and I always watch it. The biggest plot hole ... actually there are a couple.

1) Downey revealing on the stand that he didn't personally hear the Code Red order from Kendrick. It's extremely hard to believe that this wouldn't have been discovered during pre-trial preparation.

2) Kaffee trapping Jessup. Jessup's entire testimony is built on the supposition that while men usually follow orders, the defendants obviously did not. It's the entire basis for covering up the fact that he gave the Code Red order. Jessup went into that courtroom intending to tell a tale: that these were bad marines and violated a direct order.

3) Dawson refusing to salute Kaffee. This is just normal movie BS. Aside from the fact that Dawson is a prisoner and therefore not permitted to salute anyone, In the Navy/Marines you don't salute indoors and/or uncovered. Kaffe would have known this.

But I still watch it. Every damned time.

it may as well be in a one-of-a-kind spectacle

I'm always torn between Caligula and Mandingo as to which is the most wonderfully horrible...uh...uh...epic of all time.
