7. $1090/month rent for 1170 sq ft apt
2 bed, 2 bath, living area, dining area. Pool, gym equipment. Moved out of a house I owned to this apt in April. Just being able to request the complex's maintenance man to come by to fix something is amazing to me..as opposed to paying a repair guy and having to take off work and wait on that repair guy.

It's one of those "live in a faux urban/downtown setting in the suburbs". Love it. The lightrail train I take to work each day is in front of the building, downtown restaurants/pubs a block away.
Very quiet, can't even hear the lightrail in the apartment cuz my apt is in the back of the building, facing the courtyard.

16. I rent a room in a 4-bedroom house with two 40-something working guys and a 20 y.o student.
.
The other workers are nice and keep pretty much to themselves, but
the student is an A-1 drama queen asshole. We're all hoping he's
miserable enough to move -- though we know he's just a miserable
guy and will be just as bad (or worse -- the rest of us are way
too tolerant). The BEST part of that is that he would be miserable
SOMEWHERE ELSE.
.
Nice neighborhood -- a block away from the bus line, washer/dryer,
one fridge for each two guys, furnished rooms, kitchen gear provided,
free basic cable and wi-fi (with a desktop set up in a common area,
too). Nice landlord who lives a half-block away but NEVER bothers
us unless we ask for something -- all for only $350/month.
.
With my financial situation, even with this great a deal I'm flying
along at treetop level clipping branches -- but I am STILL flying.
.
.
Life has been hard lately... but life has still been GOOD, too.
.

.
Many of YOU are a part of that.

.
Thank you.

17. Other than saving
enough to pay property taxes....my mortgage/rent is 0 dollars. I paid off the mortgage about a year and a half ago. 40 acres and a house. Since I am disabled, our County allows a freeze/reduction/cessation of property taxes if you meet the criteria. I missed it by 4 bucks last time I filed for it but think I have it covered this go around. I would be happy if they just freeze them at the rate they are and will be ecstatic with a reduction or cessation.

24. $650/mo. Rent.
My share for a shared furnished condo in suburban DC.

I'm getting scammed. It was supposed to be me and two other guys; then my landlord decided he didn't want to go home after graduation from law school so he moved back-in onto the living room couch. Then, he decided to bring his mom (who speaks no English.) over from the homeland and sponsor her, she's living on the floor. 4 of us share 1 bathroom, the other guy has his own bathroom attached to the master suite.

As soon as my rental agreement is up in Dec., I'm gone. I hated DC before this, now I just want to leave.

29. Nothing.
We have 8 acres and a little 869 sq. ft. house that my husband built himself. His parents held the mortgage on the property about 5 years before we met. Once we'd been married five years, his parents gave us the deed as an anniversary gift. It's in a rural area so the taxes are pretty inexpensive, too.

We are so extremely lucky and appreciative to have what we do.

:hi:

is a shocking $2400/month. Well, shocking to me anyway... for just a 2 bedroom. Does anyone know if this is normal?

I've yet to see the place (other then from GoogleMap Street-View) but she says this is actually a good/average price for where she is.
