Finger Method
1. Place finger over ant.
2. Push finger firmly on ant.
3. Twist and roll finger so the carcass will stick to said finger.
4. Repeat if necessary.
5. Wash Hands as ants are dirty.

Is a valuable tool but not particularly pleasant on large ants. Even non aggressive ones.

when I was but a wee idjit we used to visit my grandparents in Jacksonville. Papa used to pour the contents of an 8oz. jar of gasoline on the hills, drop a match, wait 5 minutes then grab the garden hose. I think the fire ants got the message eventually. The neighbors had fire ants in their yards, Papa did not.

I'm fair certain if you did this in suburban N. J-ville today, you'd be arrested for it.
