2. 15 years old... big BIG summertime crush on Julie W... by Christmas, I hadn't written or called...
.
.
.
...for a while, though I still thought of her CONSTANTLY --
pretty, sweet, bright, attitude... LONG silky jet-black
hair with a natural inch-wide white streak (she HATED it
because her mom's hair had gone completely silver by the
time she was 25). That hair is probably why, if I have a
fetish, it's for prematurely gray-haired women -- though
the ones "on schedule" ain't so bad neither). ESPECIALLY
with laugh lines around their eyes (she had 'em at 15)

HUBBA.

She lived 30 miles away in Ann Arbor, MI. So I couldn't
go see her. Sent her a dozen roses at Christmas as a sort
of apology and prelude to speaking/writing with her again.
.
.
.
Remembered three days later that her family went to Florida
from around the middle of December to the middle of January
every year. I've learned better since, but at the time I
thought the florist would just leave those roses on her
doorstep and she would come home to a dozen DEAD ROSES
from yours truly.
.
.
.
I never did work up the nerve to get in touch again after THAT!!!
.
.
.
A romance for the ages thwarted once again by floral ignantz.
