2. While I was hunting down that photo in Google Photo...
...I saw one that was reputedly of ACTUAL pork tartare and labeled "German delicacy"...raw pork, raw onions, and what looks like black pepper.

:scared:

3. My dear Amerigo Vespucci!
Uh....looks interesting, shall I say...

Yeah. Interesting. :scared:

I never eat raw meat.

I guess the closest thing to raw meat that I will eat is smoked salmon...yum! Bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon! Then I'm in heaven!

4. When my little brother was about 12 or 13...
.
...his swim team coach would have them eat a fairly large
quantity of raw hamburger before a competition.
.
This was before people knew to cook it thoroughly for
health reasons.
.
.
.
.
Yuck.

.
.
Edited this before I posted -- the first sentence SHOULD
have ended with the word "meet" (as in "swim meet"), but
I put "meal".
.
Changed it entirely to its present form for clarity.

5. When I was younger, we ate raw hamburger all the time. This was always
freshly ground, we ate a "raw hamburger sandwich" raw patty with a big slice of onion and salt and pepper. My grandmother worked at a fairly famous restaurant, she said they served it as a "cannibal sandwich" , don't know if it's true or just one of her many stories.

6. Oh, yes, a "Cannibal Sandwich" at one time was a menu choice of many restaurants.
Basically Steak Tartare on a Kaiser roll.

I used to grind my own lean chunks of top or bottom round, season with salt and pepper, add a nice slice of onion on a toasted bun.

There was a diner across the street from the New Central Market in Cleveland when I worked there as a kid, and a Cannibal Sandwich was one of their lunch items...but the ones we made ourselves were so much better.

7. Enjoy That Case Of Trichinosis.

Eating raw pork? Why not just drink water out of a public toilet?
