4. I love this time

of the year. The weather is like the ocean to me. It reminds me of how small we all are. I saw the new Brody pics today that CL posted. It should be lots of fun to share a shelter with him!! Take care and watch the skies.

6. I like it, really.

I'm not fond of tornadoes, but I like the rains and even the thunderstorms; it reminds me that the earth is awakening from it's long winter's sleep, and needs nourishment before it begins it new labors.

Brody is a character; I love him to death, but I'm worried he may eat us out of house and home. :P

8. He's a Rotweiler mix...

Most likely either Rotweiler/shepherd of some other large-breed dog. He's the SWEETEST pup I've ever seen; has a wonderful, sunny and friendly disposition. :)

5. It's done here...

Nothing ever hit the ground. We spent most of the time at the door with the breeze. There were too many people in the shelter...and I almost got overheated. We're ok. We were smart about it. We were never more than ten feet from the shelter. No lectures necessary.

You live in OK! I live in Kansas. Do you have access to a shelter? Of course. Do you use it? Probably no more than I do. I love to watch the storms. We live on a hill and can see every direction for miles. There is no way I am going to the basement until I hear the damned things coming. At that point it is most definitely in the shelter. No lecture from me. 50 years of storm watching and only two close calls. If a storm takes me then I say it is one heck of a cool way to go.

I live in the SW part of Oklahoma, 25 miles due E of Lawton.

We're under a tornado watch til 11:00 pm tonight.


On edit: Never mind, I just checked the radar and it looks like most of this is North of us.

13. I'm likewise in Kansas

and we have the most violent weather here of anywhere I've ever lived. I just love scaring newcomers by warning them about tornado season.

Last May Howard Dean came to town the day tornadoes hit in Lawrence, Kansas, about thirty miles west. I stood next to him on the balcony of the home we were in, looking at a very dramatic sky, and it was clear he wasn't real sure this was a good idea! And of course everyone around us is happily exchanging tornado stories.
