Wiki says:
The asteroid 5020 Asimov; a crater on the planet Mars; the magazine Asimov's Science Fiction; a Brooklyn, New York elementary school; and one Isaac Asimov literary award are named in his honor.
No Isaac Asimov Day. There should be. I remember once in the early 90's learning about some obscure new discovery in physics, and realizing with more than a little regret that old Isaac was no longer around to explain it to me. The man had a genuine gift for explaining scientific concepts in easy-to-grasp terms. He did more for science than anyone outside the scientific fields. More than any politician or benefactor. He wrote or edited 500 books and has inspired three generations so far.
Isaac Asimov Day. Expect a repetition of this idea at every opportunity; I loved the guy. Nice looking steak, though.
