Say hello to Ms. Dawn of the Century
...of the 20th century, that is.

And a sad song to accompany it...

...For war's sad monopoly of the pages of history. (May those pages yet to be written be more cheerful.)

4. I just love this picture
It really communicates the popular mood of the era very well. I would love to go back in time and live this whole last century out, starting in 1900. Such a sense of hope and promise in the air, at the time. So much innocence! The new century, I would imagine, looked sort of like a broad, expansive field at sunrise...

5. Sad song
Some lyrics from an original tune

I must be living
in a dream
How can this be
Reality
Nightmare
of our own creation
Some destructive inclination
All around me,
stacks are smoking
and the trees
ain't got no leaves
You call this
Progress
You must be joking
It's Industrial Disease
