6. I have to work on the yard before I can call it a lawn
Have plenty to keep me busy. The house needs a paint job and an upgrade in the electrical system. I'll now have time to upgrade my Mustang too.

19. well I did get some news this afternoon
My wife will have surgery next month to remove her ovaries which have tumors. The doctor says that she doesn't think it's cancer so I will keep my fingers crossed and ask for good vibes. In addition she has tested positive for the gene that causes breast cancer (her mother, grandmother and aunt all died from it) so she has decided to have both breasts removed as a precautionary measure. So I will devote my time to helping her in her recovery from the surgical procedures. She is remarkably calm about the whole affair and I'm now very concerned.

20. Good vibes for your wife!
I think she's being very smart and proactive in her choices. Try not to worry...it doesn't look like she has cancer. And doing what she's planning should keep her from getting it. She's calm because she's taking care of business!

25. surgery date is August 10th
She did test positive for the breast can gene so she will have the breasts removed and have reconstructive surgery. We're trying to have both procedures on the same day.

23. Best wishes to your wife and yourself
Vibes for both of you. It's a tough row to hoe, I've had family members who have gone through it but have had good outcomes. I'll be thinking of you both and sending good wishes!!

24. I put in 32 1/2 years
Joined the day after I turned 22. I retired as Assistant Fire Marshal in the Fire Prevention division. I'll miss the people but not the stress. Good job for your son being chief. When I was a kid I lived in Longbranch and one of my best friends was a kid named Larry. I moved back to Massachusetts and lost track of Larry. Years later I went back and found out he was a member of the volunteer fire department in Longbranch. Small world I guess.
