My best friend's daughter and I came up with what will be the best new food craze of 2010
Philly Mac & Cheese Steak Sandwich.

Instead of cheese on your steak sandwich we would put Mac & Cheese on the sandwich.

We figured it can't get any unhealthier than a Double Down from KFC.

Our inspiration came while she was eating a Philly cheese steak sandwich at Ikea while our table split a side of Mac & Cheese.

1. Include a healthy amount of grilled onions and you're onto something.

Bacon in the mac & cheese might even take it to the next level :)

On edit: I think you might be under-estimating the calorie count, Double Downs probably aren't as bad as you're thinking. I think 500 some calories, I believe the typical Philly Cheesesteak has more than that.

3. If you use raw onions instead, you'll get some vitamin C.
Although I perceive that a healthy balance of food groups is not your purpose here.

5. That would be a "Philly Mac wit'".
With or without (grilled onions) is one of the inherent cheesesteak dichotomies.

4. Wait a minute! A Philly Cheese steak at IKEA?!!!
You could get the same effect with their Swedish Meatballs, cream gravy, mashed potatoes and Lingonberry sauce. Calories and cholesterol effect, anyway.

7. Yum. That sounds good!
Love both Philly Cheese Steaks and Mac and Cheese! The combo would probably be very fattening but that just makes it sound more appealing to me. :9

10. I thought the inspiration was going to be last night's The Next Food Network Star
One of the challenges was to create something special with steak and mac & cheese.

Nobody came up with your idea. They might've won if they did.

11. My Ikea food find for 2010, and it'll give yours a run for the money
Order chicken tenders at Ikea, and have them put the swedish meatball gravy on it. Instant Swedish chicken-fried chicken (even if it's not really "chicken fried"). My brother and I discovered it by accident, he had the chicken tenders, I had the Swedish meatballs, somehow a piece of his chicken wound up on my plate in the gravy. The rest is history.
