The best part of "Million Dollar Baby" is how it ends with her winning that last boxing match by KO.
And how she goes out on top of the world after having achieved her dream.

I love an uplifting ending!

1. The worst part is that she decides that life with a disability is not worth living.
I know lots of people, including quadriplegics, who vehemently disagree.

6. And I think all people have the right to choose
Their own destiny. I'm pro choice and I refuse to tell someone in that position what they should feel.

11. We need to talk...
offline somewhere.

The interesting thing is, the anti's have adopted opposition to assisted suicide as a sideline (witness their gruesome presentation of Terri Schiavo as sort of an adult-size fetus :puke: ).

That does not, however, account for people with disabilities who repeatedly get told, to their face, "I'd rather be dead than be like you". Seriesly. Now imagine the person saying that has a white lab coat and a syringe... :scared:

Finally, Marilyn Golden of the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) in Berkeley, who is at least as progressive as I am, has this to say about why opposition to assisted suicide is not solely the province of the religious wrong:
