Random tip: Shaving cream works great to clean stainless steel appliances!
If you put a little bit on a no-scratch sponge or nylon scrubee thing....and rub it in with the grain, then you wipe it off with a damp towel and buff with a dry towel, voila!! Much cheaper than the stainless steel cleaners you buy at the store and, no yucky chem smell.

1. That's good news
Now I can do something with that can of Barbasol, which is useless for actually shaving with.

2. It's also pretty good for use as a body-wash.
Edited on Sun Jun-27-10 03:39 PM by Chan790
I mean I could use body-wash (and do) but the foamy stiffness of the shaving cream makes it ideal for washing areas where you want the "soap" to stay put until you remove it; it's ideal for washing armpits, backs and crotches thusly. Spray it on, lather it up, let it do its' cleaning thing, rinse it off.

Also, it's useful for suckering kids into washing. It was the only way to get my then 5 year old brother to smell good for church growing up...because the rest of the time he smelled worse than the dog. Give them the can and let them get soapy; works best with 2 or more kids so they can have a shaving cream fight, then you rinse them off with the hose when they're clean.

that you get from eating strawberries, or drinking artificially red drinks.

7. And school desks
My son's first-grade teacher let the kids "play" with shaving cream on the last day of school--namely, draw with it on their desks, then they cleaned it off, taking with it random crayon and marker marks and dried globs of glue. Voila--end-of-year classroom cleanup done, and the kids thought they were having fun!

you know, I was that girl behind you in class with the snot coming out of her nose due to your antics. And the teacher was always yelling at me about the disruptive laughter too. How come she never heard or saw what you were doing?

11. Shaving cream is fun to use to make a temporary mask
If you shake the can a lot so that the cream gets really dense you can apply it in points to your face, slowly drawing the nozzle outward away from your face. If you make a lot of pointed blobs it really looks impressive. They droop just a bit, and jiggle as you move.

The first tme I saw this was when my brother and his friend, then in ninth grade, did this to their faces, then walked around at dusk. The town police drove by them, made a U-turn, and told the boys they better not walk around like that as it might cause an accident when people driving along saw these weird white visages appear in the beam of their headlights.

19. As a scientifically challenged person, I'd like to know:
HOW was this discovered in the first place? Did someone go bonkers in the kitchen and just happen to fire off the Barbasol? And then clean it up in a fit of remorse? Or does someone have a stainless steel sink in his bathroom? Seriously.
And is this true of ALL shaving creams?
And, conversely, does this mean that I could use "WOW" (an officially labeled stainless steel cleaner sitting under my sink right now) to shave my legs?
