any Indigo Girls fans (or non-fans) here?
This band has been sort of a constant in my life.

I sort of discovered them around the same time my sis did. She told me about this great duo she heard open for REM in Atlanta, and I picked up on them around the same time....that "Closer to Fine" era.

The band started out playing the depot in Decateur GA, and had sort of a connection to Emory, where my sis was working @ getting her degree....

So, I really got into this band....some great tunes. I thought they where getting pretty weak in recent years (w. a few brilliant flashes, like that Carla Faye Tucker song), but I am really taken by their latetest CD.

Theres just something 'front porch' about their music...hard to put my finger on it.....

....now, Im not in their fan club or some shill for their record company or anything like that..not astroturf....just wondering what others think of this band.

3. I kind of
like them. I've heard the obvious songs over the years, and liked them. I picked up a best of recently, and I like most everything on it.

They're not a must-have for me though. There are several artists/bands I check for new releases by every time I'm in a record shop, and I'll buy anything they put out without hesitation.

I like having a wide variety of music, Indigo Girls fits in there; they don't really sound like anyone else, so it's good to have thm on hand.

4. "Kid Fears"
That's a great song. I remember them from back about 1989 when REM, the B-52's, and other Athens, GA bands were getting airplay. Their particular genre of music isn't my favorite, so I don't really listen to them.

5. I like to play along with their songs on my acoustic guitar
The cord progressions are pretty basic, but they are very good songwriters in general. I like their earlier stuff the best, but have not heard their latest yet. I have tickets to see them at the Hard Rock Café on April 1. Should be a good show.
