Has anyone had this problem when removing the worm?
I'm still trying to get rid of that damn worm msblast.exe.

When I try to run the fix from symantec, it stops about half way and won't finish. The instructions say to try running in safe mode if that happens, and I tried that with the same result.

Any ideas?

1. Call a technician
They should help.

2. Go to previous settings, then try
My mom had the same problem this morning. So she changed her settings back to an earlier version (I don't know how she did this, I have windows 98), then downloaded the patch from Microsoft onto a disk from my computer, and installed it onto her computer. It worked.

4. Have you tried...
deleting or renaming MSBLAST.EXE, and then reboot. The Symantec patch should work then. Also, be sure to download the security patch from Microsoft so you don't get the worm again.

6. This sounds like that dirty phrase generator
"Grasswire realized he had quite a bit to learn about removing the worm."

7. I heard that if you have XP and it is in the Restore points it can
reinfect your computer.

8. Wait until Sunday to delete it!
On Saturday, every infected machine will try to connect to Microsoft's server to knock it out! (there was a zdnet article I posted yesterday, but it disappeared. :-( )
