When your typing in one window and another pops up to block you...
does that not tick you off.... it pisses me off to no end... that
some software skunk at microsoft values my "user-time" less than
the right of other applications to bugger my computer.

I FUCKING HATE YOU MICROSOFT. You (msft) have turned computer science
in to shit that wastes my time.

I want your windows to stay in place when i'm typing. What is so
hard about serving the customer? Why do you insist on making me
move my mouse and re-focus the machine so i can continue what i was
doing before you (MSFT) fucked me.

I also want "move-focus" something that only unix can offer... and
perhaps i'm ready like HP to ditch microsoft forever. I just need
a totally effective replacement for word and visio and i'm off this
bloody rank platform.

...scueze me i'm furious at that fucking dick in his underground
seattle bunker who's fucked over my profession and made us all into
a joke.... software engineering used to be respected... GRRRR>..

</endof rant>

1. You remind me of the judge
Using Word on a Windows system with a Microsoft Mouse and MS in the roms,,

Writing to break up Microsoft because they were bad.

If it wasn't for MS we'd all be watching TV tonight because the Internet would still be a text based Gofer thing.

If it wasn't for MS you'd be writing cobal.

If it wasn't for MS and Larry Elison had his way we'd all have to log onto some network in order to use good software. Imagine the great Network PC. So easy to use except in a plane over the atlantic.

Give us a break

2. Or maybe we'd all be using Macs...
which, I believe, were around for several years before Windows.

6. MSFT has been extremely destructive
spare me the cheerleading. The company is like "ford" in its early
days, and will easily be crushed if an alternate can make a higher
quality product.

Xwindows does not have the usability bugs i am ranting about, but
the alternates to word (wordperfect) have all been bankrupted by
the monopoly... who has bought visio too, so there is not platform
indepenence.

If microsoft had been properly regulated in the late 80's when it
was doing its really nasty practices of not releasting application
development API's to outsiders, we would have a much healthier market
today.

Why when a globe of innovation is out there, do people fawn over
the ellison/gates great men, and fail to recognize the real innovators... and instead, you worship rockefeller.

How pathetic.

8. Less popups and rather "focus"
I don't actually mean "popup" rather "window". The flaw is inside
the windowing manager, that, whilst the computer is actively
recieving user-events (keystrokes), it presumes that an internal
or network event is of higher priority and elevates that event to
change the display. This is bad software design, and were there
a serious competetive market, this feature would de-select MSFT.

I'm spoiled by years on expensive solaris systems where the windowing
manager is properly designed, and where focus does not change without
user input.

Its the computer equivalent of a car where some women break their
nails turning on the headlamps... and the solution first suggested
is that women get nail protectors or wear gloves whilst driving...

The real solution is for microsft to fix thier bug... and barring
intelligence, i'd go for a public remedy, charging them a market rate
for every second they've wasted of all their customers time in a
massive class action suit.
