Let's get this show on the road
I'm going to buy a semi, but first I needed to find a good company to lease it to. Well, I found one and put in an application about 2 weeks ago. I've talked to their recruiters on the phone. If everything they say is true it's a good deal. As of last Friday they were waiting on confirmation from my last 2 employers. They just have to say, "Yeah, he worked here," and that's it.

Well, here it is almost a week later and I still don't know what's going on. The woman I talked to who checks the information on the application told me last Friday that after they got confirmation from those two employers I could come in for orientation. Basically, "You're hired." But I haven't heard from her since. I left a message for her yesterday. She hasn't gotten back to me. I'm at a point in my career were I can get a job in trucking almost with anyone. Even though I haven't put in an application anywhere in almost 4 years (until now), I still have trucking companies calling me trying to get me to work for them. Finding a good job in trucking is a lot harder than just finding a job in trucking, however.

So, I'm anxious. I think everything is probably going to be okay, I'd just like to know what's going on. It's like waiting for an important package to be delivered, but you have no idea when it's going to get to you. I need this first before I can proceed with buying the truck, setting things in order here at the house, and putting in my notice at my current employer. Until then I guess I'm going to have butterflies. I want to get rolling before I lose my nerve. :banghead:

1. My dear Tobin!
Ah, that's tough...

I know you're stressed...time to do something else! Go for a walk, take some pictures, watch a movie...whatever you like.

I think you'll find that you feel better if you can distract yourself for a while...

I know it works for me!

Hang in there, sweetie!

You. Will. Find. Out.

2. Wait a minute....
"I'm going to buy a semi, but first I needed to find a good company to lease it to. "

That sounds complicated, can you explain further?

3. To lease a truck to a company and haul freight for them
you also have to be qualified to drive for them. I also need to show the truck dealer that I have a source of income so I can make the truck payment. It's possible to buy the truck first, but with a truck payment of $1100 a month I'd be taking a big risk. I might buy it and not be able to lease to anyone for a while.
