Twilight Eclipse
I know there are fans out there. I'm a Twilight Mom because it was the first topic my daughter and I could talk about without tearing each other apart. We're going to see it through, though the movies need to ramp it up a bit. And that's what drove me to make this post.

Have you all noticed how they keep adding directors with pretty impressive credentials? I'm excited to see Eclipse because of David Slade. His Thirty Days of Night was one scary movie. I'm looking forward to seeing if he'll remove that 90210 look from the Cullen family and really set the stage for Breaking Dawn.

And Bill Condon, I'm just sayin'. It can only get better.

As long as we're on the subject, I don't visualize anyone else now except Kristen Stewart playing the role of Bella, but for God's Sake, can someone tell her to stop rushing her lines? She sounds like it's a dress rehearsal the way her voice is monotone and tapers off in a whisper. She needs to learn to communicate more with facial expressions other than the two she has.

Okay, that said. I happen to think she's a good actor -- as her other movies attest. She has the right look for Bella, but this character is a stretch for her. The good news is that by the time the saga is over, she will have one hell of an education. I'm looking forward to seeing how her career develops.

1. Since you probably saw the first one - what is the big deal?
Not to trivialize it or anything, I just wondered, what is the allure?

2. It has vampires and werewolves. Every teenage girl's secret desires.
That's right, necrophilia and bestiality.

3. I don't know if I'd consider B-horror movies to be "impressive credentials."
Even if "30 days of night" was mildly entertaining.

5. A- to B is my range!
I'll even take the occasional "C." Porky's, for example.
