I am always heartened when I see a situation where a pet was loved for so long, and then lovingly let go. Thank you for giving her a wonderful life, and for letting her go when it was time to do that. It's not easy to do.

27. Sorry for your loss

My Great Dane (he is only six!) is getting very near that phase as well. He drags his one back foot a little, and is really having trouble up stairs. I figure I won't have him this time next year. I am still preparing myself for the inevitable.

Having had many pets pass in my lifetime, if I may be so brave as to say that the best therapy I have found is a new little fella to make more room in my heart (but certainly not replace) what I have just lost.
