Do you collect stuff? Are you a packrat?
I have about 400 books , a huge collectiom of Blue and white porcelain and cobalt blue glass. I also buy a bookmark just about everywhere I go.

Not to speak of the plants I continue buying regardless of available space

Oh yeah--the cds--Great Courses, Classical music, Dylan, etc . My places are running out of places:scared:

This is all topped off by three cats Tansy my old woman, Lilith my calico queen and Mandu my tabby luv bug

1. It's not so much that I collect...just never seem to part with stuff that I should
Some time back, I was looking for something in the attic. I ran across a box of stuff from my college days.

I found the card they hung around your neck on day 1 with your measurements and sizes (first day was all about issuing uniforms).

I can't believe I weighed 119 pounds at the time. How I survived those days I'll never know.

3. Only books. "Hoarders" is good inspiration to clean out
Was going through files and files of old papers Memorial Day, and watched "Hoarders" as inspiration. Yes, it's depressing, but it did help most of the paper to wind up in the "Toss" vs "Keep" file.

Books are another story - even though I get most books from the library and give 95% of all the books I read away, SO & I still have too damned many.

9. I can't bring myself to believe there's such a thing as having too many books.
Then again, all my books still fin on shelves, closets, and drawers. When the ability to get to some rooms is compromised, I'll start to worry.

14. I complained about missing the library Book Sale
and my friend slowly looked around my tiny apartment and said "uh, Patiod, I don't think 'not enough books' is one of your big problems right now."

5. Yep, and I am a hoarder to boot. I save stuff because I never know
when it might come in handy. (Which it rarely does, but it's hard to resist that feeling. :eyes:)

6. I collect things I'm interested - books, cufflinks, art, wine - but I'm not a packrat.
I'm very good at throwing out shit I don't need, and cleaning out my closets every year.

I hate clutter.

7.  I am with you there
I mark a box GOODWILL and the rule is , once something is put in the box, it no longer belongs to me.

8. Excellent! I keep a box in the garage marked "to give away"
that I put stuff in through the year and then take the church for the annual thrift sale.

If it's anything bigger than the box, I freecycle it immediately.

19. That's no squick. Lots of people collect jewelry - I just happen to collect a specific kind.
Nothing odd or squickish about that.

23. Were I to put together my family tree there would be upwards of 1500 people on it. I talked to a man
who was into genealogy last week, and he had over 10,000 people in his family tree. It does get addictive.

Everything else I have no problem getting rid of. Except it took me about 8 years to finally give away the size 6s & 8s in my closet.

18. Yes and yes.
I just have too much "stuff"!!! I'm not a hoarder though.

I collect Hallmark ornaments-- I have boxes of them. I could probably decorate 10 Christmas trees!

I also have too many books and CDs and need to get rid of a lot of them. I have my own books from childhood. Just can't part with them for some reason. And LP records from college. I don't even have a turntable. Too many clothes, shoes and jewelry that I'll never wear again. There aren't many good places here to dispose of "stuff"-- that is one problem I have.

After cleaning out my in-laws house after they passed, I never want to leave all this junk for my kids to go through.

20. Yep,
comic books, toys, magic cards for the most part. I am a huge Superman fan and I collect just about any memorabilia of his that I can find. I collect a wide variety of comics, and superhero toys, ranging from DC, Marvel, Spawn, to old school He-Man, GI Joe, Star Wars, and Star Trek(just the ships).
