chapman stick or warr guitar?
I've been passively looking at these instruments, and i'm curious
if anyone on DU is familiar with either or both, and their
capabilities. If you need to look at these links, you'll probably
not be able to discuss this much, but here they are:

I think that tony levin of king crimson used the stick by its
appearance, and i've also heard a west LA fusion band playing the
stick as well... but it seems instrument evolution has moved on
and i'm curious. Have you ever played one? Your views?

1. And Adrian Bellew
used the stick, with King Crimson, I believe.

2. perhaps both
I saw tony levin play the stick for hours with king crimson in
live concert, so there's no question about that in my mind. I just
websearched him, and he's stick!

Adrian bellew is an outstanding musician, and he played a whole variety of feeback guitars, possibly including a Warr guitar, though i was not close enough to see.

The warr guitar website claims the endorsement of king crimson, but
this may be more recent than the beat tour of a past life.

To be honest, my favorite was bill bruford (sp?) and his drum kit.
What an impressive setup. Adrian bellew's style is not very
crowd-dynamic, but wow, he must be a serious god in the studio.

3. King Crimson
Tony Levin uses the Stick
Trey Gunn (also of Crimson) uses the Warr guitar.

So that's not going to help you decide is it? Bwahahahahahaha

The Warr has a rep of being more elegant (better, if you prefer). Emmett Chapman is an asshole. He's sues everybody at the drop of a hat. I wouldn't buy a stick for that reason alone.

5. I suspected this
The warr guitar still appears "new" and evolving, and i've never
heard anything good about chapman, oddly, except this exceptional
instrument.

As (according to your bio) have some deep experience with guitars
and string instruments.... what do you think of that whole range
of touch-sensitive two-handed guitar "thingies"?
