Delivering me to my new life. I've never looked back.
For once in my adult life, I feel that I'm at home.
When I die, I want my ashes spread at my Alabama ancestral home.
But for the remainder of my earthly life, I'm a Pennsylvanian.

:)

1. I'm happy that you are happy.
Dayton, Ohio will always feel homie to me, but I'm ready to hit the road again. Been sitting here for the last 4 years or so. Thought I would settle down and start a family when I came in off the road. It ain't happening, so now I'm about to buy a truck. God help me. :)

Although the past year hasn't been easy, I
wouldn't trade it for all the gold in Ft Knox.

So I completely understand your sentiment. Next week is my 7th anniversary of arriving in my "second hometown", and literally not a day ever goes by that I don't feel grateful for finding myself in Western PA.

18. Butler County, PA
is home to Cooper's Lake Campground, where for two weeks each summer 10,000 of my closest friends get together for Pennsic! Ah, the battles, the shopping, the fun. It's a hoot going to the grocery store and beer place in garb and seeing how the mundanes react. Of course by now most are used to us and don't even blink an eye at someone wearing a bog dress walking down the aisle of the Giant Eagle next to someone in full Elizabethan. Good times!

13. Hey! I was through your area over the weekend. Drove up I-79 to
rt-422 and then up Rt-19 and over through Volant to New Wilmington.

Left there this morning.

15. I used to have friends in Zelie on High Street. I visited by bus or car
on some holidays when I lived in State College. Zelie didn't have much of a bus station: you bought your ticket in a store and waited in the weather for the bus. Driving gave some pretty views of farmland in rolling hills when you left the interstate.

She taught at the elementary school at few blocks away. He worked as a substitute pastor, at places like Stone Church (in Harmony IIRC). They're both gone now

I remember it as a lovely small town but incredibly conservative

24. it is pretty Republican, but there are certainly Dems there
I grew up there when I didn't know any better about the differences between Dems and Reps (which were not as pronounced back then). But my parents were quite tolerant folks (who grew up in larger cities)

16. LT - I remember you posting about moving here - we were glad to have you then
and we are glad to have you now. We have a large and beautiful state here, with almost every type of terrain you can imagine (except maybe desert) and every type of weather as well, sometimes in the same day... and a lot of still open forest space

I have lived in a lot of different places around the US, but I really love it here in PA.

You are most welcome.

28. I live a short drive from New Hope. I don't go there much, but I love Doylestown. Frankly...
...though, I'm a New Jersey fascist and consider New Jersey to be the best place I've ever lived, even if our fluke of a Republican Governor, Chris Christie, is doing all he can to destroy New Jersey much as Ronald Reagan and acolytes destroyed California.

is also beautiful.

Anything in and around New Hope is lovely - I wish they still had the barge cruises down the canal....

29. Hurray for you!
How did you like the weather last winter?

I was in Texarkana for most of the winter and in Muscle Shoals for the last 2 months. It was great to finally see my home in N Y yesterday. I'm up here getting my CDL back. It looks like I'm about to spend a lot of time in a big truck since I wasn't able to earn enough as an escort.

I also had to come home to hug my trike

and pick up my parrot for company on the long haul.

I've already decided to be buried near where my father lives. One day I have to make the arrangements.
