Pictures of my Iran trip, part 6 *PIC HEAVY*
Edited on Mon May-31-10 03:55 AM by MissHoneychurch
All previous pictures can be seen in my Journal http://journals.democraticunderground.com/MissHoneychurch

We also visited Pasargadae, the grave of Cyrus the Great http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasargadae. We wanted to have lunch next to it at the recreation area but when we arrived, a storm came up. It was a rain and a sand storm. It was over within half an hour. And it sure made for some interesting pictures. Near by the grave are some ruins of the palace and the citadel.

The grave from the distance

The guard, sitting out the storm

The palace, or what is left of it.

The Citadel

3. Those are excellent pictures

I particularly like the one of the palace with the flowers in the foreground.

I looked at your post in the index and thought you were making a rare Sunday post. It took me a few minutes to realize that it was indeed Monday. This weekend went by fast, but I still have tonight off.

6. Have you ever been to northern Nevada here in the states?
These pictures and some others you have posted really remind me of that state.

8. These look remarkably similar to the country, Iran. It's in the Middle East.
I'm kicking your thread in the silliest way I can imagine.

that in the future the relations between the U.S. and Iran are so good again that you are able to visit that country.

the sand storm was no fun for us (try to keep your scarf up while the wind is blowing like crazy, at the same time taking pictures) it gave me the opportunity to take interesting pictures.

Those are beautiful! I'll have to see the rest in the journal. My home computer died over the weekend and I'll need my brother's help to diagnose it and to see what to do next.

28. 3 days of renfest
:woohoo: maybe I should say

The forecast was for scattered showers all weekend and into the week. Saying rain, rather, the 4-letter word that starts with the letter R, tends to attract fewer people. The diehard fans will be present rain or shine. The rain fell overnight and early morning, and cloudy for the early part of the day. I had a great time!
