than Corolla, I think.
We always used to laugh because we would think we were almost there and have to drive for miles in the dark through the National Seashore, since Hatteras is almost at the end of the peninsula.
I haven't been in a while, but when we went it wasn't quite as developed out there as Nags Head was or even Duck or Corolla. I always loved how low-key Hatteras was, with fewer giant McMansion-beach houses :wtf: , fishermen casting in the surf, and the ferry ride out to Ocracoke. There were also some pretty good restaurants out there, in addition to the typical fishing shack-type restaurants which were also fun. Definitely take the ferry to Ocracoke if you can, it's a beautiful island.
One time we stayed in these metal trailers, I forget which town had them, I wonder if they are still there. One bit of advice, it gets really hot there, depending on the time of year, and watch out for biting flies.
hope you have a great time- it's beautiful.
