I dialed the wrong number at 4 am

3. I got a call in the middle of the night when I was in college. Nobody was on the line.

My college roomate asked me "who would call so late at night". I was so asleep I felt I had to answer that question. I thought and thought and thought and about 20 seconds later I came up with "a basketball team from Boston". I totally believed it. Don't know why I choose a basketball team though. We were in Halifax, Nova Scotia nowhere near Boston. LOL!

4. My roommate got home at 3 AM from several weeks in the field...

...and called me to come pick him up.

He said I mumbled something like, "Sorry, I'm in deep REM sleep right now" and
then... nothing.

No hang up. No nothing. Silence.

He managed to get a ride home and came into my room to tell me what an asshole
I was and had to start laughing. I was sound asleep with the phone's receiver
still held up to my ear.

problem was she had the wrong number and would not let me get a word in edgewise

I hate being woke up... so I would probably have some pretty colorful words to use if someone called at that time of the morning!
