I have never understood why women love cats.
Cats are independent, they don't listen, they don't come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they're home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat.

What guy wouldn't want to cuddle in bed with his special lady. (As long as that's not all she ever wants to do ;))

4. Love, love, LOVE cats.
Ours are indoors-only and affectionate snugglers. Absolutely can't live without 'em. ... Dogs I can do without.

BTW, men who like cats are automatically granted 50 coolness points for being secure, intelligent, cool and funny.

6. Well, I am a gay woman and
really have no hatred toward men in any way, lol.

But I still love cats. I actually think cats are more like women than men.

I gotta disagree with your description...yes they are independent...um not many men I have met that are, lol.

Women DO listen, more than men in most cases... but of course, they argue right back.

My cats do NOT stay out all night and they cuddle with me until about 4, when I agree they become annoying...Very

and when they are home they do NOT like to be left alone...they like to bother ME.

But one thing you are right about, women and cats - neither come in when you call.

I am a Leo though, maybe that is the key ...

shadow, comes when I call him, is always happy to see me and cuddles like a champ. He's trying to jump on my lap right now, purring like mad. I :loveya: him.

14. I don't understand why women love cats either.
And I'm female.

They make me sneeze, and I think they are useless. I am a dog person.

I'm allergic to dogs too, depending on the breed, but cats send my respiratory system into a total uproar.

I just can't handle cats.

So sue me. :D

19. I've always wondered about cats who like to cuddle
vs. the more independent type. Is the desire to cuddle innate or brought out of what would otherwise have been a more independent cat? Sort of a nature vs. nurture question. I lean more toward nature but also think that we humans might play somewhat of a role by encouraging affection from a kitten's earliest days. Has anyone else ever wondered about this?

20. Three words: shared body heat
:)

But I'm sure socialization plays a part. It's a myth that cats are purely independent. They are just wired differently than dogs (a pack species) and they form complex societies in the wild.

32. A lot of men love cats, also. They are wonderful companions.
I don't let my cat out at night anymore, he got into too much trouble with animals in the neighborhood.
And he likes to sleep on my lap the most. I like dogs also, I just prefer the cats.

42. don't know about women, but I love cats
and while I wouldn't let mine run loose outside - yes, I'm one of those - the other traits I have no problem with.

Actually, my cat would come when I called...unless he wasn't ready. He knew he was being called, but had to be in the mood to come.

It seems to me that most cats, while there are times they want to be left alone to sleep, don't seem to mind too much being bothered by their people...and I should know...I'll bother a sleeping cat on occasion, just because I want to.
