UGGGG!!! or AAARGGGGH!!! even. My dog was picked up by the dog catcher and...
My dog Sparky is an adorable mutt who washed up to my porch when a hurricane blew threw some years ago. I told my father I'd be getting him some gear if no one claimed him. My Dad said, "He won't leave, so I just want you to know right now that I am not feeding him anything special. I'm just giving him some of whatever I eat."

"Ooooookay" I tell him. "And what did you feed him today?"

"Filet mignon"

"Ha ha, and what about yesterday?"

"Four hamburgers".

LOL!!! Such is the story of our lovable Sparky. He started itching and dare I say, sort of sweating about six months ago. We took him to the vets, but things just got progressively worse. Each time we'd take him back to the vet (and we went to four of them all told) he'd be tested for another type of mange, it'd come back negative, and we were left befuddled.

Then Sparky gets arrested.

Since both of my next door neighbors have dogs and both of them can get through the fence (one by pushing under, one by jumping over) I do not tie up my dog. I know, speechify later if you want, but ever since I saw him be the middle of a doggy love sandwich while he was chained to my tree, I haven't tied him up. When I go to the animal shelter to reclaim mines, the lady who works there made me show proof that he's been to a vet. Fair enough. I had his file with me.

She laughs when she looks at my paperwork. "Your dog has a thyroid condition, and any vet worth their salt would have told you that." She even called the vets to be sure I had not faked this paperwork. All of them vouched that he'd been there for treatment, and then she calls back to the vet that works at the pound.

"Does the black cocker-mutt have a thyroid condition"

"Absolutely" calls out the vet

AAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!! I took him to all of these vets (only one of them made me feel like they didn't have a clue) and it took s a trip to the POUND for someone to sum up my fiasco in under two seconds??? REALLY????? Nevermind the money wasted on needless mange tests (one even told me he was allergic to fleas, so keep him frontlined and the problem should go away on its own) what about my efffing TIME??

I am sooo pissed.

1. It sounds like I would love Sparky, too.
I am glad they found out what is wrong with Sparky. Believe me, people with thyroid conditions get similar run-arounds all the time.

Take good care of your doggie now that you know what his condition is.
