1. Because they can. It's disgusting, and why the litterbox stays in the basement here.

2. Lots of partially undigested meat in cat shit.
When it comes out of a cat, it still smells like meat to the dogs.

3. The high-protein content of the "cookies"
makes them irresistible to doggies. :puke:

5. We call 'em "Kitty Roca,"
after a brand of candy to which they bear a startling resemblance.

7. it is totally disgusting!
we use the Tidy Cat breeze system so the litter is actually pellets and we occasionally find them in places outside of the litterbox. I try to keep the box free of said "cookies" but sometimes the boxer still finds them. :puke:

9. Caught the new puppy baby
trying to munch out on them this morning. Ugh! Gotta move the cat box where she can't get to it. But that's only gonna last so long, just until she figures out how to get up the stairs. Sigh.

10. Get one of the automated litter boxes that cleans itself
The closed container where said cookies end up are too tricky for most dogs to navigate.

11. So I told my vet that my dog was eating said cookies.
He looks at me and says "Why do they do that?" And he's the fricking vet.
