...but I was approaching or in very early puberty when this movie came out.
.
We had two classic movie theaters in the center of our small town (50,000 people),
lots of heavy red velvet curtains and gold cherubs and brocade -- gorgeous. And
BATS!!! BATS flying around that made you duck and sometimes shriek.
.
MiddleFingerMomMom dropped my buddy Rick and I off at the Michigan Theatre to see
"Old Yeller". We waited 'til she drove out of sight and RAN around the corner to
the Capitol Theatre and went in to see "The Graduate".
.
Rick's mom dropped me off at my house afterward and I walked in and STRAIGHT up
the stairs. MiddleFingerMomMom, from the kitchen, "How was the movie?"
.
Me, from the stairs, "Fine. It was about some dog. It was really sad. I have to
go to bed now."
.
.
I never DID see "Old Yeller" until about 5-10 years ago.
.
And I
STILL have a thing for Mrs. Robinson.
