3. I too hate the qualifiers.

I generally don't see people as white people, or black people. I see them as people. I don't see gay Americans as special, or bad, or good. I don't see handicapped Americans as special - though I agree they face unique challenges and I am for giving them a break in dealing with those challenges. I see them as Americans.

The prefix before American is the qualifier, and someone likes us to use qualifiers. I only use them when necessary.
