1. There are still good stations out there.
Most are just background noise.

2. Yeah,
most stations play rap music which i don't like. When i prefer rock music. Because playing a guitar takes a lot of skill.

4. I don't mean modern metal
I don't mean modern metal like Dragonfarce. I mean bands like Queensryche,Ozzy Osbourne,Led Zeppelin,Def leppard, and other 70's,80's and early 90's bands.

13. Chicago has the Loop, FM 97.9. They play much of that, and more.

Do they play some crap? All radio stations play some crap (and no offense, I'd put Def Leppard in that category, myself). The Loop plays a lot of good, hard rock though. Lots of Metallica, too. Sabbath, Maiden, Priest; mostly, the popular stuff from the '70s & '80s. Also, a northern suburb of Chicago has a metal format. It's at 95.1 FM. THEY play the real stuff, like Pantera and early Queensryche.

15. It never went away in Dayton OH
WTUE still has a heavy mix of classic rock... they throw in some newer rock and metal, but you can pretty much count on hearing Zeppelin or AC/DC during the course of any hour. A lot of Metallica, too.

They have a secondary HD Channel which I believe is mostly "old school" classic rock, including more "deep album tracks" and stuff, but I don't think they stream that. I seem to always hear a Hendrix tune when I listen.

16. There's a couple of stations here in central Minnesota that still plays that music.
101.7 plays 70s, 80s, and early 90s metal/rock and Rev 96.7 plays modern rock (late 90s, 2000s).

17. Nah, never did radio.
Too many ads and obnoxious DJs for my tastes, and I'd listen for an hour an maybe hear one song I like anyways. Want to hear the music you like? Track it down and play it on your own. No ads, no dumb jokes, no sitting through songs you don't really want to hear. Trust me, the music you like is out there, don't wait for some radio to get it to you though. Start hunting for it! :)

18. I miss "album oriented rock"
where they would actually play album cuts instead of just the hit singles.
