4. "I was sitting across the table at Olive Garden one day..."
That's the opening of her "About the Series" essay on her web page. DU will love her!!

Never even heard of her before. Is she more Exploit-romance or apocalyptic sci-fi? Is she one of those "so corny she's addicting" writers or the "underrated talent in a surprising genre" type?

5. I saw Serenity for the first time Saturday.
Was surprised. It's one of the better sci-fi films I've seen, and I never heard much about it. Clever man, nice directing touch.

Joss Stone is a pretty good singer. I never feel like she completely gets it musically, like half of what she's doing is mimicing others, but she can sing, and she seems a lot better live than studio, like she has enough musicality to interpret an audience and change to suit it. And she's young, so she's still finding her range.

6. Yeah, she's got the pipes alrighty.
I just don't get the feeling she really creates, know'm say'n?

And that may change. She's very young, and blues singers don't really have a short shelf life.

Re: Serenity...I saw it out of nowhere, like you, without really ever having heard of it. What a joy. I like accidentally discovering stuff like that.

16. Yeah, you said it just right.
She doesn't seem to create yet, but she's got a lot to work with. Maybe she'll get there.

20. Some nerdy geek with a cult following in sci-fi films.
Or maybe she's a young British soul singer/songwriter with a couple of multi-platinum albums over yonder. I get them confused sometimes.
