Just did my taxes, and boy am I bitter.
Edited on Sun Apr-18-10 12:48 PM by Darth_Kitten
Where are my bloody tax breaks?

If I had a litter of kids, I'd have my own reality show and 6 page spread in "People" magazine.

But even when I had something legit to claim (educational costs), I still didn't get much of a break. Geez.

MAYBE I SHOULDN'T TRY TO EDUCATE MYSELF AND IMPROVE MY LOT IN LIFE BECAUSE IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER!!!

errrr..... :(

1. I claim 2 even though I'm single, Darth Kitten
I'm usually within $100 either way. I don't get hit for a big tax bill and the government gets only what its got coming throughout the year. This year I got a $500 refund in part because I bought a new car last year.

3. Even with the Schedule M 'Making Work Pay' credit?
That was a BIG hunk of refund for us this year.

Thank you, socialist president with your Stimulus Act and stuff.

4. I just DIDN'T do mine
I'm below the amount where I am required to. What stinks is even if I did get any sort of stimulus, break, etc it would be taken to pay for a 10 yr old Student Loan I should have never qualified for.

Bitter, yes.

5. But you still *did* get one.
It may have been a small one, or not as big as what other people got, but you still got a tax break.

Half a loaf is better than none.

6. Sure, but each year it's less and less......
that's not fair. :)

7. Fairness is relative.
You had an income that was taxed.

I paid $0.00 in federal, state, and local taxes last year. Want to know why?

8. Of course, I'm just letting off steam.
And I know things can be a lot worse. ;)

9. Often JUST... NOT... TRUE...
.
Whether you're pinching pennies or a loaf... usually half a "loaf" is
just not sufficiently satisfying.
