Please waft some good vibes toward my hubby.
He just made what I swear seems like his one billionth trip to the cardiac cath lab today. He's fine, has a new couple of stents, and will come home tomorrow if all continues to go well, but we've been through this eight or nine times in the past 13 years, starting when he was 40. He's got cardiovascular disease that's genetic and doesn't respond all that much to the usual diet, excercise and meds, though he's gotten REALLY good at warning signs and has never, after the first time, gotten to the actual heart attack stage. It's bloody depressing, though. We're soldiering through but every time is scary, and frankly I could use a few "Poor, poor baby"s too.

Whoof.

And btw, thank goodness and a fair measure of luck that we've got magnificent insurance coverage through work. He's one of those people who started a small business years back and it's flourished. And that's a very big "whew". It's my fondest hope that everyone in this country should have the same.

2. Aww, nolabear,
I can't imagine the stress you are under. I'm glad your husband is fine but his health is probably always on your mind. Sending good vibes. My ex had two heart attacks before he was forty and it scared the crap out of me. FWIW, he's now 56 and doing fine.

5. I know the feeling. I know he's fine and will be fine.
And so will I. Thanks for the support, though I'm sorry you know it so well. Here's to both hubbies staying well!

3. My dear nolabear!
Aw, sweetie...

Lots and lots of vibes for your hubby....I hope he will get home tomorrow safe and sound...

And for you! Big hugs for standing by your man with love and patience and worry...I can believe it's depressing. You can't really do anything for him, and still you are worrying...

Take care of yourself, sweetie...

6. Thanks Peggy. Would you believe the first time this happened
we had a car wreck on the way home? LOL! It was dead of winter and a snow storm hit. A friend offered to drive us home in his Jeep with snow tires, which was great except that the guy that hit us didn't have a Jeep with snow tires. We were all fine and laughed after we freaked completely out.

I'm assuming there's poetry in this somewhere, right?

8. Cath lab and stents--ow--it sounds painful to me.
I've got some respect for what he's going through (there being heart disease in my family, so I kind of know)--and for you for the worrying about it--the worrying can be one tough job--after all, a patient is cared for, while a loved one...is patient. And about insurance, since it's true that some of us really are disposed to even horrible conditions even if we are totally responsible about our health, I think that's the most persuasive reason we have to start looking at "magnificent" as the right standard for everyone's insurance. It's good that he's doing better.

And bless your heart for thinking of others, also. Take care, and know that there are many thinking of you both.
