and the guy who plays Locke is pretty amazing too. As hot men, I place Desmond at the top of the list, Sawyer, Richard and Jack tied for #2. Boone is gone but he was easy on the eyes too. And Sayid.

I don't give a shit about either Jack or Sawyer, and if they both died by getting drunk and tripping on rocks and falling face down in the water, it wouldn't bother me. Their character arcs just don't interest me much, and they're cute but not cute enough to override the tedium of their MANLY WHITE MAN ANGST dominating every other episode above and beyond characters who are wayyy more compelling. (Can you tell I'm still not over Rosseau never having had her own full flashback episode? Fuck yes). Locke, Hurley, Ben, Daniel, Charles Widmore, and Richard have way WAY more interesting stories.

Oh, and Charlie....ur, must admit the reason I first started watching the show first season, because I liked him as Merry in the Lord of the Rings movies. And I liked his character in LOST, a little...and I felt the arc that led to his death scene was convincing and real and moving; there is a real reason for him to be dead. It's meaningful. And that's why I hope Charlie's awareness of the gap between the sideways reality and the "real" reality turns out to be key; I don't want his noble death cheapened.
