Today's travelogue -- Nome, Alaska

I already posted links to my Iditarod photos a few days ago, but for any non-race fans who might be interested, here are some shots of just Nome and its surroundings, sans sled dogs -- mostly.

Nome is old and run-down, but still kicking. I love going out there. At one time during the Gold Rush years in the early 1900s, it was a wild little boom town of about 35,000. Today's population is only 5,000 or so. Old stuff is everywhere.
