25. I actually like them
I don't understand the hatred for them, if someone doesn't like them then just don't look at them or eat them. I like a few every once in a while. They take me back to my childhood. There are a lot worse-tasting things in the world, even worse-tasting candy (Double Zout for one).

29. It seems like they're everywhere though
Most drug stores, in the candy section, and even many convenience stores and grocery stores still have them, I've seen them often - but I think one big problem is they sit there too long and get tough and chewy. I think when they first arrive fresh from the manufacturer, they are pretty soft, almost like marshmallows, but after hanging in bags for a month they get much harder and tougher. I'm just surprised at the hatred of them, as there are many things in the world that taste much worse.

38. Tough and chewy is yummy. I open them up and
let them sit. I used to find the yellow and white ones but I have not seen them in a while. But all the grocery stores carry the orange ones, thank goodness.

In fact John Holahan of General Mills came up with prototype by mixing Cheerios with bits of Circus Peanuts.

24. No, the most disgusting candy ever made is

Double Zout, a salty black licorice popular in the Netherlands. It's horrifying, and tastes like what I imagin eating tar or a tire would taste like. That is by far the worst "candy" I've ever tasted. I actually like circus peanuts, I've never understood the hatred for them, but whatever.

Spongy texture, no flavor, the only vivid memory I have is that whenever I ate them as a kid I always wished I had some REAL candy instead.

33. They are kinda awsome when consumed properly
One must take the proper amount of time, using the proper technique, to appreciate the texture and flavor.

Also, one must not over indulge. Lest one ruin the experience.

In short, I disagree, and call you and other haters ignorant via the internet, safely tucked into my home, unhappily free of circus peanuts which are surprisingly hard to find when they are desired.

44. I'm sorry but you're not even close
For truly disgusting candy you need to go to Mexico, where you will find Chaca-Chaca.

I found this quite by accident, trust me: There is a fish called a Chaca Chaca. It is possibly the ugliest fish in the world. It is so ugly posting a picture of it here will cause DU's servers to seize up. But while looking for pictures of this God-awful fish I found sites about the candy. One was a debate between two Mexican women on the subject, "should Chaca Chaca be banned?" One woman said it should not be because it tastes good and there are vitamins in it. The other said it should because it tastes bad and there's lead in it.
