Who here has seen The Call of Cthulhu?

I watched it on Netflix the other night. I loved it! Some cinephiles in another forum I belong to grumble over the very notion of recreating a 1920s silent film to tell HP Lovecraft's classic horror tale, but I found it very effective at capturing the eerie mood of the original. It was a pretty convincing bit of replicating, too. Nice work, H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society.

They did a nice job capturing the period atmosphere and I enjoyed it.

Still waiting for the definitive Lovecraft film though, which has yet to be made (not sure it ever will be, or should be, for that matter). So far I think the best effort by far has been "Dagon" by Stuart Gordon. The same director also did an excellent Masters of Horror episode of the Lovecraft story, "Dreams in the Witch House".

I'm a big HPL fan, as you may have guessed from the username. :)
