2. Barenaked Ladies - When I Fall
Edited on Thu Apr-01-10 10:04 PM by meeshrox
reminds me of a painful time, not a specific memory...

But, it is the most beautiful window washing song ever!

3. Long Road
Edited on Thu Apr-01-10 10:54 PM by RainDog
edit- lol. I had a link to a disney movie here! i feel so much better now.

this is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9S9HBeQ2OI&feature=related

well, now I've listened to it a few times...

And I wished for so long. Cannot stay.
All the precious moments. Cannot stay.
It's not like wings have fallen. Cannot stay.
But still something's missing. I cannot say, yeah.

Holding hands are daughters and sons.
And their faiths are falling down, down, down, down.
I have wished for so long. How I wish for you today.

Will I walk the long road? (the long road) Cannot stay. (the long road)
There's no need to say goodbye. (to say goodbye)

All the friends and family.
All the memories going round, round, round, round.
I have wished for so long. How I wish for you today.

And the wind keeps roaring. And the sky keeps turning grey.
And the sun is set. The sun will rise another day.

I...

I have wished for so long. How I wish for you today.
I have wished for so long. How I wish for you today.

Will I walk the long road? We all walk the long road.
Will I walk the long road. We all walk the long road.

4. The Last Time I Saw Her Face - Gordon Lightfoot
http://www.viddler.com/explore/soseitoku/videos/2/

The last time I saw her face, her eyes were bathed in starlight and her hair hung long
The last time she spoke to me, her lips were like the scented flowers inside a rain-drenched forest
But that was so long ago that I can scarcely feel the way I felt before
And if time could heal the wounds, I would tear the threads away that I might bleed some more

The last time I walked with her
Her laughter was the steeple bells
That ring to greet the morning sun
A voice that called to everyone
To love the ground she walked upon
Those were good day

The last time I held her hand, her touch was autumn, spring and summer, and winter too
The last time I let go of her, she walked a way into the night
I lost her in the misty streets, a thousand months, a thousand miles
When other lips will kiss her eyes
A million miles beyond the moon, that's where she is

But that was so long ago that I can scarcely feel the way I felt before
And if time could heal the wounds, I would tear the threads away that I might bleed some more
The last time I saw her face, her eyes were bathed in starlight and she walked alone

The last time she kissed my cheek
Her lips were like the wilted leaves
Upon the autumn covered hills
Resting on the frozen ground
The seeds of love lie cold and still
Beneath a battered marking stone
It lies forgotten

This thread is almost like therapy.

I was driving around yesterday and the song I posted came on...a weird combination of 'Man, I love this song' and "I can't bear this.' I toughed it out and listened to it all the way to the end.

28. brave? nah--- I can generally listen to all these
Edited on Fri Apr-02-10 12:41 PM by abq e streeter
although couldn't with Dirty Work and Your Wildest Dreams for awhile; a little too close to home , but time heals wounds eventually........and I'd usually laugh too at the line "I foresee terrible trouble, and I stay here just the same." Wasn't like I knew what I was potentially getting into, but as usual, the lower brain ruled the day.... said 'me want that one" and that was it...

always makes me sad.

The song itself just has a melancholy sound to it, it conjurs up a lot of memories of a particular time in my life, and it just reminds me how quickly life goes by.
