Is this sexist?
I have on a number of occasions referred to McAuliffe as "limp". Sexist?

12. everything you say is bound to offend someone, somewhere
Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 03:08 PM by private_ryan
Just by asking if it's "sexist" you definitely offended someone. To be safe, just don't worry about it, just say what's on your mind and let the PC police sort it out. They're not even sure since every day a new edict is issued. Even they can't keep up (wait...is this sexist??) with themselves.

13. I think you have sexual stereotypes confused with offesiveness when
the two are distinct. It isn't about offending people, it is about THINKING and trying to converse in a manner which is inclusive rather than demeaning....what's wrong with that?

Is it wrong to be thoughtful?

5. I suppose *technically* it is..
since it is generally a gender-specific term, and more specifically related to sexual prowess...

that doesn't mean I necessarily disagree with your assessment :)

6. Depends on whether you are referring to his dick
If you are, then yes, referring to a man's inability to maintain a hard on is sexist as it implies that whether or not he is able to maintain a hard on has anything to do with his efficacy in non sexual tasks. It is the same machismo that is used to demean women directed at a male.

7. Well, I don't think it is sexist . . .
Limp isn't really comparing him to a WOMAN, right?

Just a pre-Viagra Republican . . .
