On A Windy Night (a very cool little book in my humble opinion!)
My wife is IMO a quite accomplished painter, and she's crafted a tale of misfortune befalling a traveling carnival. It's a series of 30 original paintings united by a verse-story, and I think you'll see shades of Edward Gorey in the structure and theme.

She's recently made the book available online, and I encourage you to take a look. The site allows you to preview some of the pages to get an idea of what's going on inside!
