1. I'm halfway through the book...
.
...so I won't be coming back to this thread.
.
The language and the imagery in the writing are beautiful and masterful.
.
But it does remind me of an even bleaker "On the Beach" so far.
.
OBTS.
.
Out Before The Spoilers.

3. I'm going out to buy the book tomorrow. This film blew me away.
I haven't been this affected by a movie since Children Of Men.

4. Never saw the film. I don't know why.
I bought the book and didn't put it down till I was done with the whole thing. A few of the most mind blowing hours I have ever spent.

5. Haven't seen the film yet, but the book was powerful
The book is bleak and dark, but I think that's the whole point. I thought it beautifully answered the question of whether or not love can endure or even matters when there is no reason for hope.
