None.
The light bulb already contains the seeds of its own revolution.

Good night, DU! :hi:

is three, organised as a leninist vanguard. Those who say otherwise display disturbing revisionist tendencies. For more details see my forthcoming piece in next month's edition of the "Weekly Proletarian" theoretic journal, in which i decisively show that Marx in vol. 2 of Das Capital shows that the

5. Only morons buy Marx
I'm about as liberal as they come, but Marx was wrong about dialetical materialism and a bunch of other stuff too.

17. Meh.
I think Marx is important to understand, and he pretty much wrote most of the social science dictionaries, but I just don't buy his argument. Marx provides a lot of insight into the process, but I think his conclusions are wrong. Dialectics are means, not ends, and I think trying to argue that your conception of dialectics are ends seems a bit off to me. If that makes me an idiot inbred fucknut drone then so be it.

Oh, and I've read Capital.

22. you should have said
only morons (of a particularly boring and unimaginative type) buy marx wholesale, since many of his wilder predictions have been undeniably disproven by history. otoh you'd be a moron not to buy BITS of him, which I guess you do - there's a lot of real "insight into the process" in there.

insanity, have you read Jerry Cohen on Marx?

MarxISM is terrible, especially the soviet-influenced quasi-religious version most self-declared marxist groups promulgate nowadays. For all that I'd still say he's REALLY worth reading, (his own words, not the words of his professed disciples) as long as you read him as a nineteenth century genius trying to understand the world in his own flawed way, and not as some sort of infallible god. Even in his lifetime he was guilty of playing to his own "guru" status, but that doesn't detract from the fact that "Capital" is just an amazing work, that can help you towards a better understanding of society.

that Marx's worthwhile, I'd direct them to this: http://davidharvey.org/ - basically a series of lecture podcasts in which "Capital" is explained and discussed chapter by chapter, from a non-dogmatically "Marxist" perspective.

8. The real answer is none (practically). The solar lights last a lifetime (or around 5 years).
Edited on Thu Mar-18-10 11:13 PM by JanMichael
Only a moron changes bulbs (on any regular basis), not Marxists. I've had CFL's in the house for eight months with ONE CFL that failed.

So in basic terms Marxists rarely have to change bulbs. Only dimwits have to do so on a regular basis.

Smileys all around.

Of course now that they're down to just Cuba and North Korea, the job's a lot easier.

33. I think Korea is more of a family business with Marxist wallpaper.
The Kim family is a very crazy bunch, and they scare the shit out of everyone they have power over...with good reason.
As for Cuba,I think we might be up for a big reconciliation shortly. I hope so - the Cubans are a great people.
