1. Anoles are my favorites

I have seen these suckers stalk butterflies in the lantana plants, and fling themselves up in the air to catch them.

I haven't found a video catching them in the act, but this is the closest I've seen:

2. I love those little buggers. They are my favorite too. They're all over Florida and I've watched

them since I was a kid.

They have great eye contact, and I love the way you can see their ribs move when they breathe, if the light's right.

But they don't do well around human features, unfortunately. They always get caught on a/c fans or smashed by car tires, or trapped inside where they get weak and die.

Not to mention their issues with lawn equipment.

And there is the disappointing relationship with cats.

But they do have that cool break-away tail that must frustrate the hell out of birds and such.

I wish I had a buck for every lizard I've rescued over the years.
