My kitty kisses me
Okay, I know she's not really kissing me. She's sniffing my food hole, looking to see if she can extract any meat from it. But I choose to ignore that.

She's giving me lovey dovey wuvvy kitty kisses. :loveya:

1. My boy Mr Wiggles kisses me too
Okay, that sounded weird.

He actually rubs his mouth against my nose, and I get a definite whiff of kitty breath. Stale fishy cat food, mostly.

It's just loverly. :-)

2. And cats totally do NOT
...lick their butts with the same mouth that gives kitty kisses. That's the other mouth they keep in their pocket.

6. Mine licks me a LOT.
Either she thinks my hygiene is insufficient and she's trying to groom me, or else she thinks I'm her kitten, or else she's trying to taste me to see if I'm worth killing to eat.

Doesn't matter. It feels nice. :)

7. My sweet old lady Tabitha
who went to sleep on Wednesday, had had a litter just before we adopted her almost 19 years ago. That's why we think that she would occasionally get hold of one of my 5 boys, and clean his ears very thoroughly. Each of them would lie there pretty much paralyzed while she did her job with her rough little tongue, cause if they moved she'd get very annoyed.

It's one of their favorite memories of her, now.

8. Awww, RIP Tabitha.
When I adopted my Madimi 2 years ago (she was about 2 and a half years old at the time), they told me at the shelter that she'd had a litter at some point.

She responds to kitten cries on Animal Planet shows - I have to change the channel or else she'll get upset. I often wonder what became of her kittens, because she is so adorable even as an adult, I can't imagine her kittenhood self. I imagine her litter were mostly black and orange, because she's a tortoiseshell and that's how it tends to work.

I just want to make sure she is never hurting for warm snugglin's. That's mostly what we do late at night - she cuddles up in the crook of my elbow or against the backs of my knees.

Your Tabitha will have so many kittens to nurture at the Rainbow Bridge before you and your children arrive.

5. My girl props her paws up on my knee and head-butts me.
I head-butt her back, and then after a minute or so of that, she licks my forehead and nips my nose.

Once she tried to head-butt me, but I turned my head at the last minute and she wound up shnarfling in my ear. Her little black nose was so cold and wet.

9. My puppy greets me with kisses all the time
It may be morning. I may have just returned home. She may just feel like it.

I usually give in.

My big buddy headbutts me, does a dog talk thing, then.. he may.. if he feels like it give me one nasty big fat tongue kiss on my cheek.

Definitly two different experiences :P

11. Our kitties do give us kisses but

they do it with their eyes. It's when they make eye contact and their eyelids blink either fast or slow.

What's cool, is you can even do the same to them and they'll do it right back.
My cats have trained me to give them kitty kisses with my eyes.

12. Mine seems to know smelling my mouth as i make a kissing noise is
a proper greeting in my house. He'll do it if I haven't seen him in a while. I refuse to do it the way greet each other if they haven't seen each other for a while (obviously).

14. My cat NoName used to kiss me, but only ONCE...
.
... when I came home, having been gone for awhile.
.
And yes, I had seen her clean her butt and I STILL didn't mind.
.
After all, she had seen me clean MY butt... and SHE didn't mind, so I wasn't
about to hurt her feelings.
.
Very, VERY affectionate cat (we would blink at each other a LOT), but just
that one kiss.
.
She would blink and keep her eyes closed for long seconds at a time. I knew
someone who had trained big cats who told me that means they trust you
COMPLETELY. She also showed this by giving me lots of belly to rub.
.
I lost her last fall, yet still, for a split-second upon opening the door,
I look for her.
.

15. So does my Lucy but...
Edited on Sat Mar-06-10 07:56 AM by hippywife
I started training her when she was a kitten. I would kiss her right on her mouth and say the word kiss while doing it. Now I just pucker up or say kiss, and she puts her muzzle against my lips.

Also, if I sit with my mouth wide open while she is sitting on my chest or the arm of my chair, she sticks her whole muzzle in my mouth.

My husband says one of us is really sick, and he's pretty sure it's me.

My Lena gives me Eskimo kisses, touching her nose to mine and also plays Boo! with me. She also likes, and requests, that I blow in her face after brushing my teeth so she can whiff the mint.

I love my kitties, I don't care what my husband says. I spent my single years with kitties as company and know that if you talk to them as much as possible they grow to understand, just like a child.

Well, except for that No! word. ;)

17. My two cats show affection different ways.
Lucky licks my hand, and does the "big head rub."

Charlotte will lick my nose and face-rub me enthusiastically.
