I'm so disappointed! It has a strange metallic taste. I did a quick search and according to the internets, it could be the acid from the tomatoes eating through the can lining so the metallic taste bled through. Or it could be botullism. Damn. I looked forward to having my chili all day.

1. Aw I'm sorry, that's lousy
But better safe than sorry. It could be nothing, but it could be the absolute worst. Weekends are good for chili too, maybe some more for the weekend?

2. I think so...
My guess is that it's the tomatoes. They'd been in the pantry for a while, I'm not sure how long but still within the expiration date. I just bought the beans. boo. I had a PB&J instead.

4. Mom? Is that you?
Years ago Mom was cooking a huge pot of chili on the stove. Right next to it was a pan soaking in Ajax. You have already guessed the rest: up came the pan, slosh went the Ajax, right into the chili. This being the early '80s, when even ground beef was a luxury, especially for a single mom, we tried valiantly to save it -- but to no avail.
